Developers

The development of our plugin was initially started with three people: Jethro Borsje, Hanno Embregts and Cosmas Fonville. After finishing version 1 Jethro and Hanno decided to start working on a version 2 for their Bachelor thesis, at this point Cosmas stopped being a developer for SPARQLViz.

Jethro Borsje

My name is Jethro Borsje and I'm from The Netherlands. Currently I'm a student at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam where I am finishing my bachelor in Informatics & Economics. After that I will do a master in Informatics & Economics. Besides studying I have my own company called Jesdesign.
This SPARQLViz plugin for IsaViz started out as a project for the course "Information systems". The assignment was to build something that was able to visualize the resultset of a SPARQL query with respect to the original dataset. Our attention was drawn to IsaViz and our instructor (Flavius Frasincar) stimulated us to get into contact with the creator of IsaViz (Emmanuel Pietriga). As the project grew it became more than a assignment for the University, it became a big challenge. Emmanuel helped us a great deal in developing this plugin and we are very pleased with the result.
More information about me can be found at my personal homepage.

Hanno Embregts

Hi there, my name is Hanno Embregts and I'm also a student at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam. Currently I'm in my third year of the bachelor "Informatics and Economics". If all goes well, I can finish my bachelor this year and start on the master "Informatics and Economics" in September.
I live in Rotterdam and I work at the university, where I'm a member of the programme directorate.
During the study I got very interested in programming. We took a great deal of courses which handled the theoretical part of working on big programming projects, but this project is actually the first time that we're doing such a big project in such a practical way. It's going quite well and we're learning many thing while doing this. SPARQLViz is now really becoming what it should be, and we're really pleased with the help we got from Flavius and Emmanuel. Thanks guys!

Cosmas Fonville

Hello, I am Cosmas Fonville and I live in Rotterdam. Just like my fellow students I am working on this project for the course "Information systems". First I'll tell you something about myself.
I live in Rotterdam and this is my third year of the study Informatics & Economics at the Erasmus University Rotterdam and it suits me quite well. The informatics interest me more than the economics but you can't have it all! In the weekends I work at a local computer shop where I sell computers and components. The hardware interests me since a long time but with the start of this study I also like the software side. Now something about this project.
Working on SPARQLViz is nicest thing I have done in this study so far. It's a big project but I think we have a great team with very good supervisors. I think this is a good formula in order to make SPARQLViz a good plugin for IsaViz and by doing this: complete the course successfully!
